Angelina Jolie Biography
One of the most beautiful actresses in the world Angelina Jolie says she is still a "punk kid" tattoos and all.
She has 13 all over her body which gives film makers a headache when it comes to shooting love scenes and nude scenes, which she has no objection to doing.
She was a full blown punk in 1989 when she was 14-years-old. She dropped out of acting classes saying she wanted to become a funeral director and she dressed in black dyed her hair purple and hung out at punk and heavy metal concerts with her live-in boyfriend.
She only returned to her studies when the relationship broke up but she was always a punk at heart. When she married British actor Jonny Lee Miller on March 28th 1996 she wore black leather pants and a white shirt on which she had written the groom's name in blood.
They separated the following year and divorced on February 3rd 1999, but remained on good terms. She said of her "Hatchers" co-star "It was all a matter of timing, he was the greatest husband any woman could want but we were simply too young."
Jolie has a thing about blood, when she met American actor Billy Bob Thornton on the set of "Pushing Tin," they publicly declared their love for one another by wearing vials of each other's blood round their necks. They went on to get married and were the media's favourite couple, so it shocked everyone when they suddenly dissolved their marriage in May 2003.
When asked about it Jolie said, "It took me by surprise too. Overnight we totally changed and one day we realised we just had nothing in common any more, it was scary."
The daughter of actor Jon Voight of "Midnight Cowboy" fame and actress Marcheline Bertrand she made her screen debut with her father at the age of 13 in the film "Looking to Get Out." Her parents divorced in 1976 and she moved with her mother and brother to Los Angeles. Her mother used to take her to see films and she said that is what inspired her to become an actress and she was not influenced by her father.
She became estranged from him for reasons neither of them will reveal and although the two tried to reconcile when he appeared with her in "Lara Croft, The Tomb Raider," in July 2002 she filed a request to legally change her name to Angelina Jolie dropping Voight from her surname and it was deemed official in September 2002.
In August 2002 Voight claimed his daughter suffered serious mental problems whilst working on "Access Hollywood," and she announced she no longer wanted to pursue a relationship with him.
All she would say was "My father and I don't speak. I don't hold any anger towards him but I don't believe that somebody's family becomes their blood. Because I have adopted a son I think families are earned."
She said because of her adopted son she did not think it would be healthy to associate with him, but they were publicly reconciled in February 2010 when he visited her in Venice on the set of "The Tourist."
In 2005 she was the centre of a much-publicised Hollywood scandal when she was accused of breaking up the marriage of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Anniston. She denied they had started an affair during the filming of "Mr and Mrs Smith," but did admit they had fallen in love on set.
After Anniston filed for divorce they were often seen together as a couple and on January 11th 2006 it was confirmed they were an item when Jolie announced she was pregnant with Pitt's child.
